Lynn O’Rourke - Parish Life Director

Welcome to Our Lady of Fatima, Delanson.  We may be small, but we are HUGE-ly blessed here!  OLF offers a multitude of opportunities to enrich your faith and serve out your Baptismal call.

Community Outreach: OLF has a thriving Outreach Ministry.  A dedicated, trained group of volunteers make regular visits to parishioners who are home-bound or residing in skilled nursing facilities. We have an active Prayer Shawl Ministry that creates shawls for the sick and items for the Cancer Care Center at St. Peter's Hospital. OLF hosts a parish Rummage Sale each October, and the proceeds are dedicated solely to our Emergency Fund.  This fund was used to pay the car insurance of one of our neighbors so that she could continue to drive her vehicle to work.  We assisted a family with an overdue telephone bill, and were able to pay an overdue bill to National Grid, thereby insuring that a family with young children at home would not have their utilities disconnected.  Please support our Rummage Sale by either donating items for us to sell, by volunteering your time and talent to help during the sale, or by coming to the sale and rooting around for a bargain!

Jail Ministry: We are the face of the Catholic Church at the Schenectady County Jail.  Our ministry team visits the jail each week.  We are able to offer Mass, followed by faith sharing, or one-on-one counseling.  Every member of the Jail Ministry Team wholeheartedly agrees that this experience in ministering to the incarcerated is a tremendous blessing in all of their lives.

We offer a Communion Service, followed by faith-sharing, one-on-one counseling and other services on an as-needed basis.  All of the members of the Jail Ministry team gree wholeheartedly that our experience ministering to the oncarcerated is a tremendous blessing in all of our lives, and we get back so much more than we give.

Our Lady of Fatima is blessed with an active Knights of Columbus Council.  The Knights here are a blessing to the parish and serve this faith community in many ways, whether volunteering for a needed work project or offering the parishioners a pancake supper.

We are the site for the "Friendship Café" a Catholic Charities Senior Mealsite program.  The Friendship Café offers low-cost nutritious lunches to the elderly of our town on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday each week. Volunteers are always welcome.
